The manual is aimed at therapists who are experienced in the treatment of mental disorders, who have climbing or bouldering experience in the supervision of groups, and who would like to integrate bouldering exercises into their therapy.
Core contents of the manual for therapists are:
- Introduction to the concept of Bouldering Psychotherapy (BPT)
- Description of the procedure and contents of the ten individual sessions in the evaluated treatment guide
- Exercise catalog including all mindfulness, relaxation, group and bouldering exercises
There is also a participant section. This is aimed at participants in a guided Bouldering Psychotherapy group and serves to make materials from the therapy accessible and to enable reflection on the content after the therapy sessions.
Core contents of the participant section include:
- brief overview of the procedure and content of the 10 individual sessions in the evaluated group concept
- downloadable in-depth materials (metaphors, models, reflection questions and feedback sheets)
- audio files for the mindfulness and relaxation exercises
We would like to thank Ms. Daria Hartmann for the translation of the manual!
In order to contribute to the widest possible dissemination of Bouldering Psychotherapy, we make the manual and all materials available online free of charge on the following pages. Therapists will receive access to this information these as soon as they have completed a short questionnaire. The questionnaire is completely anonymous and contains questions about your professional background, qualifications, and expectations for the manual. It takes about 5-10 minutes to complete. At the end of the questionnaire you will receive further information on how to get the access data to use the online manual.
You can find the questionnaire here:
The online manual BouldApy enables experienced therapists to learn about and implement an effective treatment program for the treatment of mental illness (especially depression).
We would be pleased if you would support us in the development and implementation of Bouldering Psychotherapy, as well as the evaluation of the manual, and participate in our survey!
