Topic: Self-efficacy, achievement and pride

Pride is felt when reaching a goal is recognised as a successful use of one’s effort and performance (self-efficacy)

Important is to:

  • honour what has been achieved, also small successes
  • recognising the connection between expectations & demands: too high demands → disappointment instead of pride

Pride leads to contentment & feeling good in oneself → positive for sense of self-worth and self-image
